Haemofiltration with normal potassium levels
  • Intravenous
    • 1 month up to 18 years
      • DUOSOL: 20-25 ml/kg/hour continuous infusion
        PHOXILIUM, PRISMASOL: 1000-4000 ml/hour/1.73 m², max. 500-3000 ml/hour

Haemofiltration with hyperkalaemia
  • Intravenous
    • 0 years up to 18 years
      • 1000-4000 ml/hour/1.73 m²

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73m2: Dose adjustment not required.

GFR <10 ml/min/1.73m2: A general recommendation on dose adjustment cannot be provided.

Contra-indications in children

Duosol: Hypokalaemia, metabolic alkalosis.
Acute renal failure with a pronounced hyperkatabolic status, if uraemic symptoms can no longer be corrected by haemofiltration; insufficient access to the blood hole; in cases of increased risk of bleeding as a result of systemic anticoagulation.
