Growth retardation: If long-term chronic use of nasal corticosteroids in children is necessary, give the lowest possible dose. Growth retardation in children has been reported with the use of therapeutic doses of nasal triamcinolone; with long-term use, check height regularly, especially with combined inhalation therapy for asthma. In case of growth inhibition, try to reduce the dose. Consider referral to a pediatrician, especially in children < 6 years.
