Dosages

Allergic rhinitis
  • Nasal
    • 3 years up to 12 years
      • In each nostril: 50 microg./dose once daily.
    • 12 years up to 18 years
      • In each nostril: 50 - 200 microg./dose once daily.
      • Starting dose 100 mcg/dose in each nostril. If control is adequate, decrease dose; if control is inadequate, dose may be increased. 

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73m2: Dose adjustment not required.

GFR <10 ml/min/1.73m2: A general recommendation on dose adjustment cannot be provided.

Warnings & precautions in children

Growth retardation: If long-term chronic use of nasal corticosteroids in children is necessary, give as low a dose as possible. Growth retardation in children has been reported with use of therapeutic doses of nasal corticosteroids; monitor height regularly with long-term use, especially with combined inhalation therapy for asthma. If growth inhibition occurs, try to reduce dosage and refer to pediatrician.
