Treatment of angio-oedema attacks
  • Intravenous
    • ≥ 2 years and 10 up to 25 kg
      • 500 IU/dose, as required second dose after 60 minutes.
    • ≥ 2 years and ≥ 25 kg
      • 1.000 IU/dose, as required second dose after 60 minutes.
Routine prevention of angio-oedema episodes
  • Intravenous
    • 6 years up to 12 years
      • 500 IU/dose every 3-4 days.
      • Adjust the dose and dosing interval to the individual response.

Pre-procedural prevention of angio-oedema attacks
  • Intravenous
    • ≥ 12 years
      • Within 24 hours before the procedure: 1.000 IU/dose, once only.
    • 2 years up to 12 years and 10 up to 25 kg
      • Within 24 hours before the procedure: 500 IU/dose, once only.
    • 2 years up to 12 years and ≥ 25 kg
      • Within 24 hours before the procedure: 1.000 IU/dose, once only.

Warnings & precautions in children

Thrombotic incidents have been reported when administering high doses (off-label) to neonates and very young patients to prevent capillary leakage syndrome after bypass operations; monitor the patient extra carefully if there are risk factors for thrombotic incidents.
