Side effects in children

In clinical research in children (≥ 3 years), the side effect profile was in general the same as that for adult patients with the exception of a higher frequency of nephrolithiasis, at 29% (20 out of 70) in children. Asymptomatic pyuria of unknown aetiology was noticed in 10.9% (6 out of 55) of the children. Some of these cases involved mild elevation of the serum creatinine.
