      • Initial dose: 1 mg/kg/day in 1 dose
      • Maintenance dose: increase gradually if necessary to 3 - 4 mg/kg/day in 1 dose

Experience with Amphocil in children is very limited; its use is therefore not recommended unless there are life-threatening infections for which there are no other treatment options. The very limited experience that is available seems to show that the dose per kilogram bodyweight can be the same as for adults.
