Pharmacokinetics in children

The results of pharmacokinetic studies were similar in adults and adolescents. The amount of available zolmitriptan is the same or slightly lower in adolescents compared to adults. Accordingly, the amount of the available active metabolite is slightly increased. The differences are probably not clinically not clinically significant.

Migraine: acute treatment during headache phase
  • Nasal
    • 12 years up to 18 years
      • 2.5 - 5 mg/dose, as required. Max 10 mg/attack.
        • If the migraine symptoms recur within 24 hours of the initial response to the medicine, a second dose (at least 2 hours after the first dose) can be applied.
