Bacterial infections
  • Oral
    • 8 years up to 18 years
      • 20 - 40 mg/kg/day in 4 doses. Max: 1.000 mg/day. Max single dose: 250 mg/dose.
      • Duration of treatment:

        Until at least 2 days after the symptoms disappear. For at least 10 days in streptococcal infections

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR 50-80 ml/min/1.73 m2

Warnings & precautions in children

Permanent discoloration of developing teeth: Hypoplasia of tooth enamel and permanent discoloration (yellow-gray-brown) of teeth have been reported with the use of tetracyclines during the second half of pregnancy or in children up to 8 years of age. This side effect is more common with long-term use of tetracyclines, but has also been reported after repeated short-term use.
