        First give half the calculated dose and then assess whether the remainder should also be administered.
        The liquid for injection can be administered orally

Metabolic acidosis caused by chronic renal impairment; alkalisation of urine
  • Oral

      • 47.6 mmol/m²/day in 3 - 4 doses.

      • Adjust the dose depending on the pH of the urine: target pH value is 7-7.5

  • Intravenous
    • 1 month up to 18 years

      • Initial dose: 1 - 2 mmol/kg/day, once only. Followed by an infusion of 132 mmol in 1 l of glucose solution (50 g/l) at an infusion rate of 1.5-2 times the rate of maintenance fluid; infusion rate max. 1.5 mmol (= 126 mg) per kg per hour..

      • Adjust the dose depending on the pH of the urine: target pH value is 7-7.5
