  • Oromucosal
    • ≥ 13 years
      • 8.75 mg/dose, as required, max. 5x daily.
      • Duration of treatment:

        Maximum 3 days

      • Directions for administration:

        Move the lozenge around in the mouth while sucking on it in order to avoid localized irritation.

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73m2: Dose adjustment not required.

GFR <10 ml/min/1.73m2: A general recommendation on dose adjustment cannot be provided.

In exceptional cases, varicella can lead to serious infectious complications of the skin and soft tissues. To date, it cannot be ruled out that NSAIDs contribute to the worsening of these infections. It is therefore recommended not to use flurbiprofen in cases of varicella Prescrire Internat. 2010)
