Dosages

Pain, burning, itching of mucous membranes and skin (including hemorrhoids and anal fissures)
  • Rectal
    • < 12 years
        • Cream 30 mg/g: max 0.2 g cream/kg/dose (= 6 mg lidocaine/kg/dose) ; minimum dosing interval 8 hours .
        • Ointment 50 mg/g: max. 0.1 g ointment/kg/dose (= 5 mg lidocaine/kg/dose) ; minimum dosing interval 8 hours .
    • ≥ 12 years
        • Cream 30 mg/g: apply 1-3 g of cream at a time in the morning and evening; max. 10 g at a time and max. 20 g per day
        • Ointment 50 mg/g: apply thinly 2×/day for up to 4 weeks.

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73m2: Dose adjustment not required.

GFR <10 ml/min/1.73m2: A general recommendation on dose adjustment cannot be provided.
