Hypomagnesaemia
  • Oral
    • 1 month up to 12 years
      • Elemental magnesium 0.6 mmol/kg/day in 3 doses. Max: 12 mmol/day.
        • Adjust dosage based on plasma magnesium concentration.
        •  1 mmol magnesium = 24,3 mg  magnesium
    • 12 years up to 18 years
      • Elemental magnesium 12 - 24 mmol/day in 3 - 4 doses.
        • Dose according to the plasma magnesium concentration
        • 1 mmol magnesium = 24,3 mg magnesium

         

Prevention of hypomagnesemia
  • Oral
    • 1 month up to 18 years
      • Elemental magnesium 0.12 - 0.25 mmol/kg/day in 3 - 4 doses. Max: 16 mmol/day.
        • Adjust dosage based on plasma magnesium concentration.
        •  1 mmol magnesium = 24,3 mg magnesium

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months
