Dosages

Infiltration anaesthesia, conduction anaesthesia
  • Perineural
    • 6 months up to 12 years
      • to a maximum of 5 mg/kg/dose, once only.
      • A gradual dose reduction is needed in children with overweight and fluid retention, which should be based on the ideal bodyweight.

    • ≥ 12 years
      • 300 - 500 mg/dose, once only. Finger blockade: 10-50 mg
        Per intercostal nerve: 20-50 mg, for a maximum of 10 nerves at the same time.
Local anaesthesia
  • Intravenous
    • 6 months up to 12 years
      • to a maximum of 5 mg/kg/dose, once only.
      • A gradual dose reduction is needed in children with overweight and fluid retention, which should be based on the ideal bodyweight.

    • ≥ 12 years
      • 200 - 300 mg/dose, once only. Max: 500 mg/dose.
