  • Oral
    • 2 years up to 6 years
      • Dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate. 7.5 - 10 mg/dose, as required 2-3 times daily. Max: 30 mg/day.
    • 6 years up to 12 years
      • Dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate: 7.5 - 15 mg/dose, as required, max. 6x daily. Max: 60 mg/day.
    • 12 years up to 18 years
      • Dextromethorphan hydrobromide monohydrate: 10 - 30 mg/dose, as required, max. 6x daily. Max: 120 mg/day.

Warnings & precautions in children

In children, serious adverse events may occur in the event of an overdose, including neurological disorders. Caregivers should be instructed not to exceed the recommended dose. (SmPC easybronchial STOP JUNIOR)
Chronic cough may be an early symptom of bronchial asthma, therefore dextromethorphan is not indicated for the attenuation of this cough, particularly in children. 
Cases of abuse and dependence on dextromethorphan have been reported. Caution is particularly advised in adolescents and young adults with a history of drug abuse or psychoactive substance use. (SmPC Silomat DMP)
