Vaccination for Japanese encephalitis
  • Intramuscular
    • 2 months up to 3 years

      • 0.25 ml/dose 2 vaccinations, as follows:. First vaccination: Day 0
        Second vaccination: Day 28.
      • Alternative administration: In exceptional cases, the vaccine can also be administered subcutaneously to patients with thrombocytopenia or blood clotting disorders, given that bleeding can occur after intramuscular injection. Subcutaneous administration could result in suboptimal response to the vaccine

Side effects in children

In children up to 3 years of age very often: fever (about 29%), flu-like symptoms, diarrhea, irritability.

Other side effects: Lymphadenopathy, Decreased appetite, Headache, Cough, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rash, myalgia, fatigue. Increase in liver enzyme levels.
At the injection site: redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching, hardening.
