Dosages

Colonic lavage
  • Oral
    • < 5 years
      • 90 ml/kg/dose, once only.
      • Directions for administration:

        Innemen de avond vóór het onderzoek in 2 porties met een tussenpoos van ten minste 2 uur. Niet sneller toedienen dan 30 ml/kg/uur

    • 5 years up to 10 years

Renal impaiment in children > 3 months

GFR ≥10 ml/min/1.73m2: Dose adjustment not required.

Adult Side Effects

Meest frequent: abdominale klachten, vooral bij het prikkelbaar darmsyndroom, dosisafhankelijke diarree, flatulentie en misselijkheid/braken. Als gevolg van het uitzetten van de darminhoud kunnen abdominale distensie, pijn, ontlastingsaandrang, fecale incontinentie en borborygmi voorkomen. Perianale infectie en irritatie kunnen optreden. Verder zijn mogelijk angio-oedeem en allergische reacties door de macrogol waaronder rinitis, huiduitslag, urticaria, erytheem, pruritus, dyspneu; zelden anafylactische shock. Voorts zijn gemeld: neurologische effecten zoals desoriëntatie en epileptische aanval, convulsies, onwel bevinden, dyspepsie, dysfagie, kokhalzen, hoofdpijn, duizeligheid, slapeloosheid, hartaritmie, tachycardie, voorbijgaande bloeddrukstijging, longoedeem, perifeer oedeem, verstoring van de elektrolytenbalans (bicarbonaat, calcium, fosfaat, natrium, chloride), afwijkende leverfunctiewaarden. Netelroos, rinorroe, dermatitis en rillingen.

Er zijn meldingen gemaakt van Mallory-Weisssyndroom na toediening van macrogol voor darmreiniging.

Contra-indications in adults

Overgevoeligheid voor polyethyleenglycolen. (Vermoeden van) ileus of subileus. Obstructie of perforatie van de darm. Ernstige inflammatoire darmziekte, zoals de ziekte van Crohn. Maagledigingsstoornissen. Acute buik. Toxische colitis en toxisch megacolon. Maag-darmulcera. Ernstige ontstekingen van het darmkanaal of gevorderd carcinoma. Het gebruik van aspartaambevattende toedieningsvormen bij zwangere vrouwen met fenylketonurie of kinderen met fenylketonurie.

Voor de colonlavage middelen tevens: Hartfalen klasse III en IV. Ernstige dehydratie, ernstige lichaamszwakte.
