General Dose Info
- The adsorption capacity of the pharmaceutical formulations varies; a suspension is more effective than tablets or capsules. In cases of intoxication, the suspension should therefore be used and not the tablets or capsules.

Combination with laxative:

When activated charcoal is administered once, laxative is indicated only when ingesting toxins that reduce intestinal peristalsis.

When activated charcoal is administered repeatedly, laxative is indicated on the basis of stool pattern.

Sodium sulfate as laxative: 0.5 g/kg/dose PO (max 30 g), repeat as necessary
Caution: use of laxatives may induce electrolyte disturbances
