Dosages

Hypovolaemia with proven hypoalbuminaemia as a comorbidity
  • Intravenous
    • 1 month up to 18 years
      • 400 - 800 mg/kg/dose, as required.
      • The dosage depends on what the individual needs in order to recover and maintain the haemodynamic status and circulation.

Severe neonatal hyperbilirubinaemia
  • Intravenous
    • Term neonate
      • For neonates born after a pregnancy of > 35 weeks:
        Before an exchange transfusion: 20% albumin 1
        g/kg/dose, once only. let it run in over 60 minutes..
      • Where the serum albumin is < 20 g/l
