Dosages

Active immunization against hepatitis A and B infections
  • Intramuscular
    • 1 year up to 16 years

      • Ambirix or Twinrix Paediatric: 2 doses of 1 ml/dose
        1st vaccination: random moment
        2nd vaccination: 6-12 months after 1st vaccination

        General guidelines for giving a booster vaccination can be derived from experience with the monovalent hepatitis A and B vaccines. A revaccination dose can be administered with the individual vaccines

    • ≥ 16 years

      • Twinrix Adult: 3 doses of 1 ml/dose
        1st vaccination: random moment
        2nd vaccination: 1 month after 1st vaccination
        3rd vaccination: 6 months after 1st vaccination

        When rapid protection is required (e.g., < 1 month before departure to risk area) administer a dose on days 0, 7 and 21; this schedule recommends a fourth dose 12 months after the first dose.
