Pharmacokinetics in children
Die Serumhalbwertszeit beträgt nach Gabe von Phenoxymethylpenicillin-Benzathin 2,5 Stunden (Phenoxymethylpenicillin-Kalium 30–45 Minuten). Aufgrund der verlängerten Halbwertszeit ist Phenoxymethylpenicillin-Benzathin für eine 2 x tägliche Dosierung geeignet.
Phenoxymethylpenicillin-Benzathin zeigt im Vergleich zu einem herkömmlichen Präparat mit Phenoxymethylpenicillin-Kalium bei gleich guter Bioverfügbarkeit eine langsamere Resorption und erheblich verzögerte Elimination des Wirkstoffes Phenoxymethylpenicillin.
Im Einzelnen wurden folgende pharmakokinetische Parameter ermittelt:
